Leeshaw:
A wet and windy afternoon and I had a trip out to Leeshaw to see if I could get some better photos of the Red-breasted Merganser I saw yesterday, but I did not locate the bird.
It could well still be here, the South side banking is not visible from the path, nor is quite a lot of the SW side.
Possibly as many as 12 Red Legged Partridge were in the fields west of Denholme salt pile, seen from the car on the way there.
Lots of Geese airborne, mainly Greylags with a few Canada Geese.
Lots of Gulls on the SW shoreline - very distant and lots of Black Headed Gulls in the fields.
1 lapwing seen on the SW shore.
3 Cormorant, also a Pied Wagtail and half a dozen Swallow low over the fields and barns.
Local:
A blustery walk up the local fields before tea did not reveal much.
3 Meadow Pipit and 10 Mistle Thrush were good to see though.
Elsewhere today a Peregrine was seen.
I've posted a few 'interesting Gulls - the photos at the distance are poor though.
