Ogden Siskin

A late afternoon visit to Ogden today. Another "night-day", not getting light at all really.

Some very heavy rain this morning but I managed not to get wet on my Ogden circuit this aft. - the car park was quiet to boot.

First up was 2 'Duck' types high, fast NW that I nearly missed, just saw them disappear, as I glanced back from the end of the promenade.

Lots of white in the wings and body ,moving fast.

A real poor photograph was all I could get - they look very Male Goosander like to me.

The west side trees / bushes were alive with Birds contact calling.

The contact calls all seemed very similar with the exception of Long Tailed Tit.

They were very high and flighty, in the dark canopy among the dying, brown foliage, making it difficult to see them.

I manged a few poor photos of some of the birds.

Birds:-

Siskin, Goldcrest, Long Tailed Tit, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Robin.

2 Male Goosander (?).

The usual Gulls on the drink as far as I could see.

Siskin photos.
Lightened and cropped.
The dark canopy not giving a good reflection of the proper colour.
