Ogden to Bradshaw

( A Cormorant was on the river Calder, seen from Sowerby Bridge, bridge this am).

Sue dropped me at , Ogden, late afternoon, so I could have a nosy around and a walk home via the 'low route'.

A dull unpleasant afternoon with constant light drizzle, just the odd light spell.

Birds:-

A circuit of the water was a quiet do with the usual Gulls and Mallards, no rarer Ducks here yet.

A Kingfisher was 'hovering' just above the water, by the north end water's edge.

It took me a 'second' to realise that it was a Kingfisher!

Was it looking at it's reflection in the water?

I have never seen a Kingfisher hover like this before.

Once I'd twigged what it was, the bird eyeballed me and vamoosed across to the east side.

Also of note seen today was a Treecreeper.

The walk home through the farms and fields brought with it the usual Little Owl and a Heron in flight.
