Bingley St. Ives / Local Fields

A cold but beautiful crisp day today and we enjoyed a walk with friends around St, Ives park near Bingley late morning.

Not a birding outing but we did take a look at the birds around the Coppice Pond.

Lunch was at Stephen Smith's garden centre, where a sandwich, stuffed full of Turkey with some roast taties and a small pig in blanket was on offer – yum – yum.

Late p.m.  I had a very short birding walk up the local fields, just before dusk.

Birds:-

St Ives:

c12 Goosander, spread far and wide along the pond, ducking and diving were difficult to count accurately.

Heron, Black Headed Gull, 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull.

Moorhen.

A 'squabbling grunt' of Mute Swan that were being fed bread which I doubt would be good for them.

Local Walk:

Mistle Thrush, Little Owl.

Family of 4 Wren chasing about.
