Raggalds Flood / Soil Hill

An outing with terrible timing this afternoon, when  wrongly, I thought the worst of the weather had passed through.

I had a look at Raggalds Flood before walking up Percy Rd to Soil Hill.

Heavy, persistent rain for company for nearly all of the outing.

Even my comfy-down cagoule looked a bit sorry for itself.

Nearing home the weather improved - typical!

Birds:-

Raggalds Flood:

Good to see a few Mallard here - they might entice something down.

Elsewhere:

Herring Gull, Common Gull.

Soil Hill was difficult - I waited about a good while hoping the rain would ease but it didn't.

I just did a stroll up the main track to the quarry, but I managed to see a Snipe and c10 Meadow Pippit, all flushed as I walked along.

A Pheasant flushed from underfoot near the Taylor Lane midden.

Sue mentioned that there were c30 Lapwing near the trailer field about 1 mile SE of Queensbury, when she passed this afternoon.

Just manged a few poor photos.

Just caught the Pheasant as it flushed.
