Not much birding time on a busy day today, but we did get a walk in and I had a short outing up the local fields.
We enjoyed the cycle track walk where the sun shone for a while on a very calm mild day.
A toasted teacake for lunch was also very nice, from the small outside café along the track.
They do seem well organised at the café with 3 sheds outside ,with picnic benches inside of them ,in case the weather is wet. Plenty of choice as well with hot and cold drinks, sandwiches , buns cake and ice cream. I think it is open from Wednesday to Sunday,
Later on I had a short stroll up the local fields, where the day had darkened considerably even though it was only early afternoon.
Looks like this dull, mild weather is set to continue except for tomorrow when we are due 24 hours of wet and windy stuff.
See link below re: Bar Tailed Godwit's amazing flight record.
Birds:-
Cycle Track.
2 Greenfinch, Bullfinch, Chaffinch, Wren, Long Tailed Tit, Common Gull.
A Great Spotted Woodpecker that called and then flew to the top of a conifer tree(miles off) was the highlight of the outing.
Local Fields:
2 Little Owl, Common Gulls and Herring Gulls both very noisy overhead.
