A very sunny day up here finally submitted to the fog rising from the valley, this afternoon, coinciding with my arrival on Soil Hill.
The usual route, this aft, through the fields, up Ned Hill Road, a quick look at Ned Hill Track and Soil Hill main track before going along Percy Rd and Taylor Lane, home.
Birds:
A Coal Tit on feeders in Bradshaw Hall garden.
Little Owl , Kestrel and a Calling Green Woodpecker along the fields.
2 Herring Gulls (one with a yellow leg ring .. looks like 5B9B) and a Common Gull on the Soil Hill covered reservoir.
3 Meadow Pipit on wires on Ned Hill Road.
Nothing doing on Ned Hill Track or Soil Hill track.
4 Mallard and a Moorhen on NK pond.
A Pheasant on Taylor Lane midden.
The usual Small Gulls dotted about....
Apart from some Winter Thrushes (and a Snow Bunting!!) I suppose this is about as good as it gets, up here in December!
