Saltaire Walk

We had a short run out to Saltaire, late morning, and enjoyed a circular walk through the woods, along the river and canal.

The river is full to bursting and some of the small 'islands' and usually uncovered rocks were underwater.

The water going over the weir by the boathouse was very fierce, covering all the racks, so no chance of a Dipper here today.

We called at the small  cricket ground cafĂ©, which was unusually quite, and we enjoyed our usual toasted teacake and Yorkshire Rascal.

Birds:-

Jay, 3 Pied Wagtail, 7 Goosander in all.

8 Greenfinch in one tree together was pleasing to see,

Black Headed Gulls on the cricket field.

Not a lot else seen.

An 'odd' very dark Duck was asleep on the riverbank was probably a Mallard type.

c50 Lapwing were airborne as we passed Asa Nicholson's cafe on our way there.

Later a look at Raggalds Flood found a good bit of juice but nothing on it.

Just a few Crows.

3Mistle Thrush were seen from Bradshaw Lane.
