Two Local Walks

A couple of enjoyable circular  walks today.

First this morning a circular walk to Soil Hill,  where both Ned Hill and Soil Hill were bereft of birds.

After lunch I had a circular walk from home to Holdsworth

A very , very cold day, dull but dry.

The first day of winter and the shortest day (in my book anyway) and the bird life was "as expected" ( although several Pinkies were reported - I never eyeballed any).

Birds:

A.m.

3 Stock Dove.

A few Herring Gulls over Percy Road included one with a leg ring.

(Probably the same Herring Gull as I had earlier this week).

A Heron over Bradshaw Lane.

P.m.

Great Spotted Woodpecker in Bradshaw Park.

8 Goldcrest.

A few Gulls.

Not a lot else.

Still it was good to be out in the fresh air bart fog.

You can just about make out a leg ring

Not much white in the primary wingtips.
But I'm not clever enough to try and turn it into a Yellow Legged Gull.
