A walk up to Raggalds Flood this morning was a cold breezy affair.
Just 1 Black Headed Gull on the water.
This afternoon I enjoyed a cool, but very windy outing along the local fields and around Soil Hill - back via Taylor Lane.
A rat was seen in a barn as I went through the farm buildings and a bit further along and a high pitched squeal that came from some large stones could have been a Weasel, but I did not eyeball the squealer.
Birds:-
Nothing much doing until Soil Hill.
A Partridge species flushed immediately flying 'early doors' from the north side of Soil Hill it flew quickly down the north side to the fields below.
Just a Pr. Mallard and a Moorhen on NK pond.
c25 Lapwing with Starling were seen in fields, North as well, on the very limit of my camera and bins.
A bird flushed as I walked the quarry top footpath and I manged to track it with the bins and get a half decent photo of a Skylark - my first this year (Hopefully many more to come).
(Where are all the Meadow Pipits?).
2 wild Wabbits were in a Taylor Lane house garden.
Pr. Pheasant were near the midden, further along.
2 Lapwing and a few small Gulls were just visible on the Raggalds Flood, seen from the top of Percy Road.
A cold half hour, late afternoon garden sky watch brought me a Heron and a very distant, Raptor, very high over Oats Royd, drifted south (Buzzard ?).
