Garden and Bradshaw - Soil Hill Circular

While I was waiting for the plasterer to get plastered this morning I had a bit of a sky watch from the garden.

The sun was trying to get out from behind some wispy cloud and all in all it was quite pleasant.

3 Buzzards and a Sparrowhawk were seen and as usual from this vantage point they were well distant.

2 of the Buzzards were soaring over Halifax / Kings Cross area the 3rd over Oats Royd area.

3 Greenfinch.

Mid-afternoon I had a walk along the fields and up Ned Hill, over a bit of Soil Hill and back via the west-east path above the quarry - a windy do!

A bit soon in March to expect much but always the chance of finding and 'early bird', and if you don't look, you'll never know - well that's what I think anyway.

Some great weather in the forecast, for a good few days after tomorrow, if you like it dry and sunny.

The Raggalds Flood looked like a puddle when I passed yesterday so I doubt it will turn up much this week.

Birds:-

Tough going today.

Herring Gull.

Kestrel, Little Owl.

5 Stock Doves.

Curlew, 2 Meadow Pipit. 3 Fieldfare not a lot else.

(Nothing on the Lower NK pond or on the little pond seen along the east path from the quarry today).

Halifax Area Buzzards above.
Oats Royd Buzzard below.
(Both miles off).
