Mixenden Reservoir and Local Fields

I had a short trip out to Mixenden this afternoon to check out the reservoir.

I kept to the outside of the perimeter wall opting for a walk through the mega boggy woodland.

What birds that were here were very distant.

Late afternoon I had a walk along the local fields through the farms and back.

A mostly dry outing, a heavy shower dampened things a bit late on.

Birds:-

Mixenden Res:

A Great Crested Grebe way over on the NW was pick of the bunch.

My first for 2022.

Other than the Grebe there were just a few small Gulls, 3 Mallard and 9 Canada Geese.

Local Fields:-

2 Green Woodpecker , 1 seen, calling close by the second calling simultaneously, 3 or 4 fields over was a nice surprize.

1 or maybe 2 Little Owl.

1 Red Legged Partridge.

4 Stock Dove.

3 Greenfinch.

6 or so Chaffinch.

A small flock of Goldfinch and a few other sp.

2 Wabbits.

It felt a bit more spring like this afternoon.
