Mixenden Whoopers / Bradshaw ... Soil Hill Top circular

Following a grapevine txt from B.S. Reporting Whoopers on Mixenden Res. I took a detour from my route to Sainsbury's to check out the reservoir from above, on the road.

Luckily the 30 Whooper Swans were still there and I got some distant, if  poor, photos.

Later I had a short sky watch from the garden where a distant Sparrowhawk was seen and a Green Woodpecker called constantly from nearby.

Also, 2 high, fast moving Ducks were probably Mallard.

After lunch I had a walk along the fields up to and over Soil Hill top.

Extremely windy with a strong NE blow making it feel quite cold.

Birds (seen during the walk):-

Pr. Little Owl.

Pheasant.

3 Skylark.

2 Moorhen on the little pond below the east path beyond the quarry.

7 Fieldfare (1+3+3). Nice to see some Fieldfare still knocking about in various locations.

1 Common Gull.

1 Herring Gull.

Ringby Top (Swalesmoor) in the far distance.

Windy on Soil Hill Main Path.
