Ringby Lane - Black Redstart a.m. / Local p.m.

A (black &) Red Letter Day for DJS with his sighting of a  Black Redstart near the Swalesmoor ski slope this lovely sunny morning - a great bird to find Dave.

I was at B&Q  when I decided to go home via Ploughcroft Lane and try and beat my abysmal twitching record of late.

Black Redstart:

As I parked the car near the cottage a bird flitted onto a nearby wall - I could not believe my luck - the Black Redstart.

The difficult bit was getting a photo as It was extremely active, disappearing and the reappearing.

The bird seemed to be finding plenty of food as it flitted about between walls , house roof and bushes.

I did get a few half decent snaps of it though.

The resident Helicopter decided to take off, not long after, and I thought that would be the end of the sightings, but it did reappear.

After this excitement I spent most of the day, enjoying the sunshine, in the garden but I did get out for an hour or so late afternoon.

During my gardening a Buzzard flew over the house.

Local:

 2 Buzzard.

1 Little Owl.

2 Green Woodpeckers (heard) a 3rd one seen.

Bullfinch,

2 Stock Doves.

2 Wabbits, a Bee and a Ladybird.
