Bradshaw - Ogden Circular (via Soil Hill Main Track)

12:30 to 16:15:

Another 'odd' weather day, flipping cold early on warming up nicely by mid-afternoon.

Another heavy sack day with the woolly jumper and wind breaker soon ditched.

The cold wind still persists probably adding to the lack of owt special (of course it could be my birding incompetence).

I was hoping for a special at Ogden given the mass of shoreline, a Common Sandpiper would have been nice, but....

'live in hope de da de da de da'.

Birds..from Home to Ogden:

Kestrel seen from the garden this morning.

6 Swallow in ones and twos.

Little Owl, Meadow Pipit, Curlew.

Chiffchaff and Willow Warbler in abundance.

2 Red Legged Partridge.

Pied Wagtail. 2 Lesser Black-backed Gull.

Pr. Great Crested Grebe.

Heron. Raven called from NW end of Ogden woods.

Three Ducklings.

Long Tailed Tit, Blackcap.

Many Greenfinch along Ogden Lane.

From Ogden to Home (via Soil Hill Main Track):-

4 Linnet, 6 Meadow Pipit, 4 Skylark.

2 Pied Wagtail.

Pheasant.

Buzzard calling from Oats Royd.

It was sad to see a dead Hedgehog on Soil Hill main track.

A quick thought of a trudge down Soil Hill's north slope and back remained .....a quick thought.

I'll leave that part of the hill to younger legs!!! (And better eyesight).

Not a bad walk really, good exercise, but disappointing with the lack of any Waders at Ogden.
