A Windy Do

I had a drive over to park near Denholme Velvets and to check out a couple of nearby bridleways (BW).

It was an extremely windy outing and the birds were very hard to come by.

Apart from passing large Gulls, nothing much was seen along the BW south of Foreside Lane.

Foreside Lane itself did cough up a Pheasant and 4 Stonechat.

Leeshaw Reservoir:

We decided to treat ourselves to a fish butty from the really excellent chippy at Cross Roads near Haworth, we ate the butty looking over the moors just through Haworth.

Home was via Leeshaw Reservoir, Oxenhope.

Very windy here as well and nothing out of the ordinary found.

A Little Owl that was sitting in a distant field had me puzzled for a while.

Loads of Geese in different fields and the shoreline.

5 Cormorant.

2 Large Ducks far off on the water look to have a Shoveler type bill but they could well be Mallard!!

Lots of white seen on their rear end, as they swam away.

Heron mobbed by Lesser Black Backed Gull.

4 Lapwing and a few Gulls.

Leeshaw:

I thought the bird on the left was a Lapwing.
But looking at the photo, it looks too big??

Best of a bunch of poor photos of potential Shoveler.

Little Owl.
