We enjoyed a non-birding walk from Oxenhope to Haworth and back this morning.
Near Old Oxenhope Farm (I think it's called) there was lots of muck being spread about.
Hereabouts were 2 Kestrel, 2 Buzzard, c120 Starling, c50 Meadow Pipit and c10 Pied Wagtail.
This afternoon I took the short drive over to Leeming to check out the reservoir.
Chilly and dull here this aft.
Birds:-
c10 Tufted Duck.
2 Cormorant.
Common Sandpiper, Grey Wagtail, Pied Wagtail.
Red Legged Partridge , Green Woodpecker and Great Spotted Woodpecker all heard.
Bullfinch, Willow Warbler, Chiffchaff, Coal Tit.
Herring Gull, Black Headed Gull.
A long scan for the Redshank paid dividends as it appeared at the north end just as I was leaving - it disappeared very soon though.
I did not get a photo of it in flight, which was a pity.
One bird on my earlier blog , in flight , was definitely a Redshank with the white in the wing obvious (and not the hoped for Spotted version).
The Redshank photos are rubbish in the distant gloom - more my fault than the weather's!
