Local and Saltaire

The end is nigh... Abi will soon be back at school...but a few days to go yet.

We took Abi to Saltaire this aft, to have an adventure along the river, through the woods and along the canal.

A bit of a stingy ice cram in the cricket pitch cafĂ© was disappointing.

A warm outing but more dashing about with Abi instead of birding.

I took a few  photos and I've also included some photos of the last two evenings local outings.

Birds:-

4 (Four) Kingfisher sightings (2 birds together).

3 on the river 1 on the canal.

Lots of tiddlers seen in the river.

2 Moorhen on the weir.

Black Headed Gulls on the cricket pitch.

Nuthatch and Great Spotted Woodpecker heard.

Tonight - local fields.

1 Little Owl, c20 Mistle Thrush.

c15 Goldfinch, A smallish flock of Starlings.

Yesterday evening had more or less the same bird species plus a Kestrel.

Local Yesterday:
