The last day of November and another grot bag of a day with cold and damp foggy stuff for most if it.
The weather improved marginally just before dark.
"Dashing about with the smoothing iron" (well vacuum cleaner really) seemed a good idea this morning.
I've actually put the vacuum cleaner on eBay, today - well it was just gathering dust.
(Not mine alas - Tim Vine's).
A very bedraggled bird on a wire at the Raggalds looked like a Kestrel from the car, but I think it might be a Jackdaw now, looking at the photo!
Late afternoon I had a short walk up the local fields, not expecting to "see" much.
I was rewarded, however, with a sighting of a pair of Stonechat on a distant fence post, as I made a random scan with the bins.
Not a bad bird to see within 300 yds of home!
The Little Owl's locations were shrouded in fog but I did eyeball it eventually.
A single Wren on a wall and Black Headed Gull floated past like a ghost, but not a lot to write home about today.
Still its always good to get out and about.
I've had to mess about with the photos to get some light into them.
Big freeze it northern Europe and some NE or N wind on the way might bring something special to a reservoir next week - we live in Hope?
(That's funny I don't remember moving to Derbyshire - ok it's not funny OK!)
A Jackdaw (?)
