Raggalds Flood and Local Fields

Another busy day with Abi and Emma today.

I did get a short walk up to check out the Raggalds Flood this morning, but the cupboard was bare with no birds at all in the flooded field.

Just one Common Gull on the deck and a few small Gulls airborne seen on the way there.

It was good to eyeball a very distant Little Owl in a new location, SW of Farsides Farm, near the Raggalds.

The short stroll up the local fields mid-afternoon was a windy affair.

Funnily enough just one Common Gull seen on the deck and the Little Owl in its usual seat on a field wall, here as well!

A Great Spotted Woodpecker and a Greenfinch were heard from White Windows car park, Sowerby Bridge.

I suppose any chance I have of a 2022 Calderdale tick must be with a rare Duck or Gull species.

So I need to get out and see some reservoirs!
