Thornton Cycleway / Home, Soil Hill Circular

After the lousy weather over the last few days, I managed a couple of outings today, which was good for the soul, and, not good for the sole.

This morning we enjoyed an exercise walk along the Thornton cycleway, windy and cloudy but it stayed dry.

This afternoon I hoped that the gales might have dropped something special on Soil Hill top, which it possibly had. But with the ferocious gale blowing up there I didn't hang about as I went up the main track and then turned right at the quarry to follow the field paths to Percy Rd corner  (hoping to find an earlier lost glove - but didn't) and then back down Taylor Lane.

It was a bit stupid of me really, trying Soil Hill in this gale stuff, mind you I am pretty stupid.

ok, well maybe not pretty.

Birds:-

Cycleway:

Just a few Gulls, included a Herring Gull.

(Raggalds Flood has quite a bit of juice.. just a few small Gulls present).

Bradshaw, Soil Hill Circular:

Little Owl, Kestrel.

20+ Magpie together in one farm field.

Just a Pheasant flushed from Soil Hill.

Mallard on the small (east) Kelham side pond.

Small Gulls along the way were mostly Common Gull.

Cycleway:

Bradshaw - Soil Hill:

The Olive Oil stile.
A real squeeze to get through!!
Unless you are as thin as O. O.
