An early-ish walk up to Soil Hill, along the summit path to Ned Hill Track.
Back home via Percy Rd, Taylor Lane and Bradshaw Lane.
Calm and Dull at home a bit windy and damp on the hill top.
Quite an interesting outing (for Soil Hill) today with a few birds about.
When I got home Abi wanted to play football in Holmefield park - I'm sure she's trying to kill me off.
A real old mud bath on the football pitch.
I ended up 4" taller than I set off with the accumulated mud on me boots - still not tall though.
(Abi has learnt how to cook spagbol at school, so she cooked it for us Friday evening and this afternoon - to coin a phrase - It's tasty, tasty very very tasty, it's very tasty).
After tea I had the last of the light walking up the local fields.
Birds:-
Bradshaw Lane: Little Owl, Pr. Buzzard.
Taylor lane: Kestrel, 7 Fieldfare, 3 Mistle Thrush.
Soil Hill: 4 Skylark - one singing, Pr. Kestrel flushed together, 6 Meadow Pipit.
Ned Hill Track: Kestrel, Stock Dove and a few gulls.
Homefield Park: Great Spotted Woodpecker calling.
Local Fields: 2 Little Owl (not much else).
