Brookfoot LNR and Saville Park Area (Thursday)

Brookfoot LNR:

A grim morning in Bradshaw with heavy drizzle, mist and wind.
I had a physio appointment at Elland and afterwards I escaped the weather at home in favour of a circular birding walk at Brookfoot.
A bit drizzly here but, way, way better weather than at Bradshaw.
First bird I saw was a Kingfisher over the canal by the fishing ponds - not a bad start.
Very few birds visible on the ski-lake as I passed with most birds perched on the railings way off to the south - not really visible through the railings.
On my return, though, things improved on the ski-lake with the usual Gulls, 3 Goldeneye Duck and a few Tufted Duck.
Still awkward to see, so there could have been others.
Nearly back to the car and a few Siskin were in the canal side bushes here.
An enjoyable outing with something to keep the interest going all the time.

Birds:-

Kingfisher.
6 female and 1 male Goosander.
3 Mute Swan. (one ring No: 4Y77).
5 Heron - some 'returning?' to the high trees.
4 Goldcrest (at least!).
Little Grebe.
Bullfinch.
3 Tufted Duck.
3 Goldeneye.
4 Siskin,
A Drake Teal was on the river (new location for me here).
2 Cormorant.
Many Long Tailed Tit.
Grey Wagtail.
Gulls included 1 Lesser Black-backed and a few Herring.

Saville Park (Thursday):

A short walk around the Saville Park area and a few of the streets hereabouts while Sue waited with Emma in the Hospital, Eye Department.
A dull, drizzly sort of day today.

Birds:-

c50 Redwing.
Mistle Thrush.
Jay.
2 Singing Blackbird.
Sparrowhawk.
Goldfinch.
