Saltaire Area

Another windy one in Bradshaw and after some shopping and a visit from a plumber this morning we had a free afternoon.

We had a run out, mid-afternoon, to park near Hirst Wood and enjoyed a walk along the canal towards Saltaire.

A quick coffee and tea cake in the excellent Roberts Park cafĂ© and we continued our stroll along the river and through Hirst Wood.

A dull, sometimes wet and windy outing with quite a few walkers and  cyclists for company.

Not really a day to stop and stare.

Birds:-

Singing Song Thrush.

2 Heron.

Greylag and Canada Geese.

Jay.

A flock of Redwing in a tree top looking very small.

Goldfinch.

Greenfinch.

9 Goosander dotted about.

A LARGE Gull (that I though was a Heron at 1st) is probably a Herring Gull.

(Looks to have a somewhat wider white trailing edge to wing).

And a few other sp.

No Woodpeckers seen or heard which was a disappointment.

Pretty grim coming back over Kelham with bands of dull drizzle moving through.
