Filey

We are back from Filey after a few days holiday with Abi.

No birding time really and when the opportunity arrived the weather was truly atrocious!!

A really enjoyable break - Filey is a real gem - but just a few very poor photos to post.

On the journey to Filey I played spot the  tractor ,  with Abi,  to pass the time.

Rewards were : Red Tractor £1. White Tractor £2 Blue Tractor £3.

Abi was in the passenger seat and I was back seat driver and we were at break even point until approaching Filey (tractor city) where my silly tractor game cost me £18.50 as if!!

2 very late evening outings were plagued with bad weather.

On my first jaunt there was a really cold gale force SE wind.

On my second jaunt it was as if a ginormous watering can was being used upstairs.

Frothies cafĂ© in the centre of Filey (opposite the Buccaneer) is fantastic.

Lovely coffee, great bacon / sausage sarnies (or buns and stuff) and very reasonably priced.

The cost of eating out seemed  to have ballooned all of a sudden?

Birds: (or lack thereof).

Fulmar, Yellow Legged Gull, 2 Kestrel.

Many, many Herring Gull.

Pied Wagtail, Kittiwake.

Meadow Pipit.

Many Oystercatcher.

Gorillas in the mist on Filey Brigg.
Well not quite
