Oats Royd (Top) / Bradshaw - Soil Hill circular

A free day today - I'll pay for it later this week I guess - with the ladies over at Ruth's to do some pottery.

I had a run up to Roper Lane early on where the temperature was a cold 2 degrees.

I had a walk down the track to check out the top of the Oats Royd Area.
After lunch I had a 'leisurely' walk through the farms up Ned Hill Road , a quick look at Ned Hill Track and back to the road and a quick look along Soil Hill Main Track as far as the quarry and back - Percy Rd, Taylor and Bradshaw Lanes.

2 degrees at Roper Lane in a cold breeze but the day improved and it was really pleasant this afternoon.

Birds:-

Oats Royd Area:

Skylark, Kestrel, 5 Linnet, Pr. Bullfinch.

Sparrowhawk overhead flew down to Holdsworth.

and a few others.

Bradshaw - Soil Hill Circular.

2 Kestrel, Little Owl.

Curlew calling from Soil Hill area and a second bird over the farms.

Light coloured Buzzard.

c10 Meadow Pipit throughout.

Buzzard, 3 Linnet.

Skylark, Raven,

4 Herring Gull.

A Raptor 'crying' somewhere near the Soil Hill mast area which I could not pluck

out of the clear blue sky - possibly another Kestrel.

Pheasant.

Garden:

A Buzzard flew over me bonce as I was taking me boots off in the garden.

Pied Wagtail - looking exhausted or hot on the roof nearby,

A very pleasant outing indeed today.

Oats Royd Top Area:

Took this speculative (empty sky)  photo after DJS's
Grapevine re: Red Kite this a.m. and found this in it!!
