Lower Gorple Reservoir Area

A rare visit to Gorple Lower Reservoir ,  busy  here on Easter Sunday with walkers and cyclists.
A colder day, by a long chalk, than the forecast heatwave!
We parked at the 1st Lower Gorple Res. Gate and enjoyed a walk along the excellent track to the reservoir.
A good nosy about from the wall - most birds in the far left corner from us.
We returned to the car via the road, with a quick coffee stop in the Pack Horse Inn.

Birds:-

Lively but probably too many people knocking about.

It was good to chat to a young lady mountain biker / Birder along the reservoir wall.

Meadow Pipit, Mistle Thrush, Pheasant, Curlew, Skylark, Lapwing, Red Grouse.

Many Oystercatcher,
c5 Redshank.

Pr. Stock Dove, Canada and Greylag Geese.
Reed Bunting, Swallow.

2 Lesser Black-backed Gull (with legs of varying colours of yellow).

4 "Yellow" Legs.
Can't turn one into a Great Black-backed.
Although one looked pretty big in flight.
Probably mud on the legs?

Miles off presumed Redshank and Curlew.

A lovely day out.

Redshank bringing my Calderdale yearly list to 90.
