Another sunny day with the nippy, strong, N or NE wind still hanging on in there.
I had a really enjoyable couple of hours up to and around Soil Hill via Taylor Lane and back.
Plenty of birds about as I went up the main track and a 20 yard detour down the north slope before going over the hill top, down the diagonal path and left along Ned Hill Track.
Very warm on the Hill in places and cold in other places.
Some very colourful grasses and plants making it quite beautiful up here today.
Birds:-
4 Pheasant, 2 Chaffinch, 4 Magpie, 6 Carrion Crow, 8 Woodpigeon.
7 Swallow, 4 Skylark, 5 Lesser Black-back Gull, 5 Linnet.
3 Meadow Pipit.
5 Whitethroat - My 1st local ones in 2023!
1 Swift, 2 Buzzard, 2 Wren, 2 Goldfinch.
A very short sighting of a bird in tress / scrub to the right of the very beginning of the
north slope path.
It was probably a Dunnock!
2 Greenfinch, Blackbird, 2 Curlew, 2 Mistle Thrush, Jackdaw.
5 Canada Geese, 2 Mallard, 1 Starling.
1 Blackcap, 3 Willow Warbler, Kestrel.
Possible Raven on a pylon?
Pity the photos aren't up to much.
(A couple of Butterflies - but the photos are poor) .
