School Holidays - Skipton / Ilkley

We took Abi off to Skipton for a couple of nights this week.

Strange weather, very cold and dull to start, eventually turning brighter, with a bit of sun eventually peeping through.

Not a lot of birding opportunity with other 'priorities'  of a 12 (going on 18) year old to please.

I did get a very short walk through Skipton Woods on Wednesday, but didn't see a lot.

We called at Ilkley this morning on our way home and I had a walk along the river to tennis club area and back.

Some Birds:-

Skipton.

Swift, House Martin, Swallow, Dipper.

Oystercatcher and Curlew calling as they flew over the caravan site.

A Buzzard was high over Silsden and an Unidentified bird was seen from the motorhome, on a wall,  further along the road - probably a Curlew.

Ilkley:

Dipper, Sand Martin, Grey Wagtail. 4 Swift.

Black Headed Gulls.

Possibly a Speckled Wood Butterfly.

Garden this afternoon:

2 Buzzards drifted West towards Ogden, One was calling after the other.

Skipton:

Unidentified
