Brighouse and Local

No birding much today with a visit to Brighouse with Abi this afternoon for her to do some shopping.

We checked out the charity shops to see what she could get for her fiver (in theory!).

A visit to Kendal's Ice Cream Parlour at Hipperholme is always good.

Birds:-

2 Swift zipping high over the canal near the climbing tower was only my second Swift sighting of the year.

A few 'Butterflies' included a black one - but I failed to get it on camera.

Yesterday Local:

2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls.

2 Stock Dove.

This evening Local:

1 Lesser Black-backed Gull over head.

A few large Gulls just visible over the Swalesmoor recycling plant.

1 Swallow.

1 Meadow Pipit.

No sign of a Little Owl for a day or two now.

A few Butterflies.

(Wall Brown and Green-veined White perhaps. The Red and Black insect I cannot ID).

Quiet times.

  1. Your red-and-black insect is a Cinnibar Moth John. Stunning insects, with very distinctive caterpillars. Nice one
