Soil Hill

My usual walk after lunch today up to Soil Hill and over the top on the main tracks.

A pleasantly quite warm walk with a refreshing breeze on the hill.

Birds;-

Alarmed Swallows alerted me to a Sparrowhawk way above Roper Lane.

7 Linnet, c7 Swallow, 4 Stock Dove, 16 Starlings over.

4 Meadow Pipit, Kestrel, c7 Lesser Black-backed Gull,4 Black Headed Gull.

A Buzzard was being mobbed by 2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls near Koi Carp Copse.

A 2nd Buzzard seen from Bradshaw Lane. A Buzzard was also seen from the garden later.

6 Mistle Thrush on a Taylor Lane pylon.

Top of the shop was Grasshopper Warbler.

I heard a faint reeling as I was 50 yds off the end of the Soil Hill main apex  East/West path.

The same bird or a second was reeling as I started the decline to Ned Hill Track.

And ? probably the same bird was reeling half way down the slope to Ned Hill Track.

I'm not sure how quick the Grasshopper Warbler moves about, but this one (if it was just one bird) could certainly shift.

A video of the call could be heard on my camera replay and from the transferred video file on my mobile but my WhatsApp grapevine message seemed to be silent on my phone.

Loads of Meadow Brown and a good few Red Admiral butterflies on Taylor Lane.

Grasshopper Warbler Reeling.

Two very poor photos of the Sparrowhawk mega distant over Roper Lane:-
