Bradshaw - Ogden - Bradshaw

Another long hike today (with Bradshaw Lane closed to traffic from 9am 'till 5pm for the next 2 weeks) I legged it over the fields to Ogden, around the circuit and along the golf course tracks to look for the Redstart again - failing miserably today.

Home was via Field Head Lane, the very overgrown Calderdale Way path to Mount Zion Church then along Per Lane and Cowhill Gate Lane.

Along here I had a text from my pharmacy to say my meds were ready to pick up (I was actually begin to get concerned about the thick black hairs growing out of my palms of my hands of late).

With Bradshaw Lane closed, rather than use the car on the long diversion ,  I had the bright idea to walk down Keighley Road to the Pharmacy and back.

I was soon feeling my legs packing in as I reached the pharmacy and  the heat arrived!

However...

At the pharmacy a guardian angel appeared in front of me in the queue (he had a great white steed waiting in the car park, well not really -  a green Toyota farm type vehicle) and offered to wait while my sedation was delivered, and then drop me at Ingham Lane on his way home - Cheers Geoff.

A slog past 6 big Tarmac waggons to home followed.

Sorry about all this guff, but when I've seen next to nowt, I have to write summat!

Birds:-

Tough Going.

Kestrel, Buzzard.

Sparrowhawk (or better?) very high with 3 Gulls above Syke Lane, Ogden.

Ogden Water had 2 Black Headed Gull, 1 Common Gull, 7 Lesser Black-backed Gulls at one point.

2 stunningly beautiful Juvenile Lesser Black-backed Gulls  were on the dam wall.

4 Cormorant.

Great Spotted Woodpecker (heard).

A solitary Tufted Duck was out in the middle, asleep throughout.

Willow Warblers along the good track behind the maintenance buildings were augmented by a single Whitethroat in a tree as I headed up the field to... the disappointment step stile.

Buzzard.
