Elland Bridge to Avocet Works, Brighouse

I watched the ladies world cup final this morning, an enjoyable match with a really sad end alas, but 2nd in the world ain't that bad is it?

This afternoon I walked from Elland Bridge to Avocet works, Brighouse along a fairly busy canal.
The forecast was for rain so I dressed appropriately which was a very hot and very sweaty mistake on my part (again).
I intended to watch the ski lake for a bit but a water skier, noisily, swished past - so I moved along!

Birds:

2 House Martin, Grey Wagtail, 1 Heron, Kestrel.
3 Moorhen, 6 Cormorant, c40 Mallard.
7 Mute Swan,, 3 Canada Geese.
4 Buzzards (2 at Elland Bridge, 2 nr. the ski lake).
Long Tailed Tit.
A large scrawny Gull is possibly a Lesser Black-backed Gull, and, possibly not!

Heard:-

Bullfinch, Chiffchaff.
(2 "Mice Types" zoomed across the path).

( A Buzzard was seen from the garden a.m.).
Elsewhere a Peregrine Falcon.

The Butterfly looks like a Speckled Wood to me!
