Local Fields

An early 'birthday party' for Abi today with a visit to Huddersfield Super bowl 10 pin bowling with Abi's best friend.

I had a short garden watch this a.m. a murky do.

A pair of Goldcrest flew past and landed in the beech hedge before flying to a nearby by conifer -  a first in the garden for me.

A Mistle Thrush landed on a telephone pole, looking confused by the gloom and a Wagtail species called as it past too high to ID.

The fields were bathed in drizzle and it was a cold, cold walk this afternoon.

A few Meadow Pipits, 2 Black Headed Gulls and 3 Common Gulls hereabouts.

My Little Owl (asleep)  has moved house away from the 8 horses in the horse fields and took up residence in a hillside tree - took some finding!

Other than that, a ragged looking Swallow,  was perched on a telephone wire near Fox Hill Park, seen as we returned from Huddersfield bowling.

I woke at 6 am and thought I'd heard Pinkies - but Sue said I must be dreaming - she did not hear any!!
