Pinkies in the Mist

A bit of a garden Viz-mig this morning was a frustrating event.

I had a short sky watch in the garden, waiting for a joiner to look at a job we wanted doing.

Nothing much in the very murky  sky.

The joiner turned up and while he was assessing the job, upstairs, the distict call of Pink Footed Geese came through the slightly ajar landing window.

I legged it downstairs and out into the garden but could not locate the Pinkies.

A short while later as I sat in the garden more Pinkies were heard, south of me, moving east in the mist over Halifax - still not visible.

I had a walk up to Taylor Lane to get a 'better view' of the skyline, before we had to leave for a surprize 70th birthday party.

DJS reported c60  > east over his Swalesmoor watchpoint - Swalesmoor was shrowded in mist as seen from Taylor Lane, so, although I heard them calling, I did not see them.

A bit later I heard some more Pinkies calling, this time east of me over Queensbury, moving east by the sound of them.

These, at least, were picked up by JC over Northowram, shortly afterwards.

If my eyes were as good as me lug 'oles I would have seen the Lot!!

Other Birds:-

Jay seen from the Garden.

Little Owl seen from Bradshaw Lane,

6 Grey Partridge seen from Taylor Lane. Lots of Meadow Pipit here also.
