No chance of any birding here today with drizzle and foggy stuff throughout.
I'm getting a tad fed up with all this fog and rain.
To get some light into me eyes, I drove down to Brighouse this afternoon to have a traipse around Cromwell Bottom LNR and environs.
It was still a bit drizzly but 1,000 times better weather than at Bradshaw.
I had a walk along the canal and a look at the Ski-lake before taking the path past the lagoon (some people working in the reed bed here) and over the bridge to pass the feeding area and on past the twin bridges to the weir. I came back via the river path. The river is very swollen and fast flowing.
Great to get out of the house, walking though, even in this gunge!
Birds:-
5 Goosander (All Redheads).
A few Goldfinch and Long Tailed Tit.
3 or so Goldcrest.
2 Canada Geese.
c10 Cormorant.
c20 Small Gulls on the lake 60% Common Gulls.
A small flock of (c20) Siskin landing in the top of a tree nearby, called a few times then vamoosed.
I pressed the video button on the camera, as they left, leaving me with a great video (not).
3 Heron.
Coat Tit.
A few other species - seemed to be loads of Blackbirds about today.
Bye Bye October - take the weather with you on your way out, please.
