Ogden Water (Monday) :
A dull very foggy day today tried its best to brighten up but failed miserably.
Late afternoon Sue dropped me at Ogden and I enjoyed a longish birding outing.
Great to bump into DJS on the prom and we did a slow birding walk around the water but we did not eyeball anything special 'today' - still I enjoyed the chat.
After a circuit Dave left and I did another lap. The fog soon enveloped the place however and there was little or no visibility over the water.
Bradshaw Fields this afternoon:
A drippy do with bits of nuisance light rain late afternoon, dull!!
Birds:
Ogden Water Monday:
A great number of Gulls strewn out all over the water with Black Headed Gulls on the metal railings on the end of the prom.
Some serious peering through the gloom failed to get us anything scarce.
All 4 of the "common" Gull species.
1 Cormorant.
2 Raven.
1 Kestrel.
Goldcrest and Goldfinch flitting about with good numbers of Long
Tailed Tit.
13 Canada Geese.
Mistle Thrush (Bradshaw).
I called in at the Fleece for a couple of pints ( a pleasant change for me).
This rounded off the evening very nicely - good to chat to friends in the boozer.
Bradshaw Fields this aft:
c20 Small Gulls.
7 Greylag Geese.
c30 Canada Geese.
Little Owl.
Green Woodpecker calling loudly.
