I had a walk up to the Raggalds, along Percy Rd and down Taylor Lane.
Some water still in the flooded field, might stay the week if the
Weather forecast is to be believed.
After lunch I had a meander up the local fields.
A calm bright-ish day , no rain, no fog.
Late afternoon we had a meeting at White Windows at Sowerby Bridge and ,we, took
the opportunity to have a very quick diversion to Ringstone.
Birds:
Short Walk:
Pied Wagtail. 8 Small Gulls. 35 Canada Geese.
Red Legged Partridge .
Local Fields:
8 Canada Geese. c50 Jackdaw. 4 Common Gull.
2 Little Owl.
1 Green Woodpecker called from East Croft Farm.
1 Green Woodpecker called from trees opposite our house.
Ringstone:
Not a lot on the water at one point but some Gulls did land there for a while.
Loads of Gulls on the reservoir Wall and on the waters edge , below the wall.
The 'usual' fields have been ploughed and there were many Lapwing and Golden Plover.
(Miles off alas).
I've taken some videos to look through when I get some time.
Wow.... a lot of Golden Plover there John.
ReplyDeleteDifficult to count from my distant video with Lapwing and
ReplyDeleteWood Pigeon in the mix, but I estimate in excess of 120
Golden Plover!! Cheers.
