On The Buses (Again)

Another bus day, this time to Ilkley via Keighley.

Its  amazing the destinations available from  Keighley bust station.

Earlier I had a short 'Viz Mig' from the garden but the sky over my house revealed very little.

LD reported Pink Footed Geese going down the Calder Valley and after some long scanning and squinting I manged to pick them out as a moving "------------" line above the very distant skyline.

The bus ride to Ilkley went extremely well with the Ilkley connecting bus, but the on the return we had a bit of a wait.

Lunch was a bacon bap in Spoons at Ilkley and Keighley Spoons came in handy with coffee and biscuits for our long wait for the Halifax bus.

A look at the Ilkley shops was followed by a walk along the river Wharf towards Addingham, where we picked up the bus back to Keighley.

The river was quiet bird wise. Just a small camera with me here.

I just managed to squeeze in my usual walk up the local fields this evening, but rain sent me home as I was not dressed for rain today.

Birds:-

Garden:

Pink Footed Geese, Coal Tit, 4 small "Others".

Ilkley:

3 Red Kite, Goosander, Moorhen, Mallard.

Bradshaw Fields:

Kestrel.

4 Mistle Thrush.

A Jackdaw was taking a real dislike to a medium small bird, mobbing it constantly.

Raptor I though, but when I got me bins on it, it was a Mistle Thrush - ODD.

The usual small Gulls in the fields and a few Lesser Black-backed Gulls over >W

5 Greylag Geese.

126 Starlings on Pavement Lane Telephone Lines.

Bradshaw Fields - Probably Common Gull.
