Redwing Day (but not for me) Boo Hoo

A really foggy morning was very reluctant to clear, but when it did , the sun came out and the temperature whizzed up!

I managed a bit of garden sky watching this a.m. and the loads and loads of shopping (but not finding what we were after) UGH.

We squeezed a walk in late, late afternoon down to The Junction Inn at West Scholes for half hour.

Birds:

(Or lack of 'em).

A Buzzard was high over Roper Lane.

Three Buzzards were just on the limit of the bins, high over Oats Royd drifting south.

A Kestrel over the house and a Little Owl  (not seen) called several times as I 'cross-worded'  in the garden.

Viz Mig from the garden was futile with nothing much coming my way.

However, c1500 Redwing were counted during the morning by HC over Haworth/Oxenhope way - so not a million miles off. They probably past to the west of me?

c15 'somethings' > South were just in view. They were bigger than Redwing and their wingbeat was too slow for Redwing (Probably Gulls!!).

A Kestrel flew over the house.

On our way from the Junction Inn a LARGE Gull flew West - probably a Lesser Black-backed Gull though.

4 Red Admiral sightings in the garden - could be just one Butterfly though.

A Peregrine was seen my our travels.

Some pretty rubbish photos :-

LARGE Gull.
