Another showery day with some heavy rain in among, in Bradshaw this morning.
Sue was visiting her 'old boss' in Elland and I decided to have a lift to Elland Bridge to walk along the canal and river to Brookfoot Avocet works.
(I was hoping to visit Ogden late afternoon, but we had to make an afternoon visit to Heckmondwike which kyboshed that idea).
I was super lucky with the weather though with just one bit of a shower hitting the costa.
With the expected heavy rain I carried just the small camera today.
Birds:-
3 Mute Swan.
1 Heron and a Male Goosander near the weir next to the 2 bridges.
A 'Redhead' Goosander later on the ski-lake.
Buzzard over.
Loads of Long Tailed Tit seen.
Siskin in a high tree near Avocet.
2 Jay. Pied Wagtail.
A very high pitched loud call was ID's as Treecreeper by my Merlin app. But I failed to eyeball it.
Bullfinch (Heard).
Ski-Lake:-
Coot.
3 Tufted Duck (2 M, 1 F).
3 Goldeneye (2 M, 1 F).
1 Heron.
Eleven ! Cormorant sailing along the lake together.
A Cormorant was on the canal earlier & a few other Cormorant elsewhere and some on the pylon.
A Great Crested Grebe dived and disappeared!!!
It looked like the usual gang of Gulls here but they were awkward to see today and out of range of the small cameras zoom. Herring Gull was calling.
An enjoyable tread.
