Garden, Raggalds Flood (Interesting Duck) , Bradshaw Walk.

A grand sunny day started with some 'gardening' of sorts.

Later we enjoyed a walk along the Thornton Cycle Path were a Toasted T Cake and a Massive Mars Cookie went down a treat in the top class outdoor cafe there.

After lunch Sue headed off to Heckmondwike to pick Abi up from school for her usual Friday night and Saturday at Grandma's.

Mid-late afternoon I headed off over the Bradshaw fields through the farms buildings ( nice to chat to Deliah there ) up the grunt and along Percy Road and down Taylor Lane.

It was too dark by then, really , to go over Soil Hill.

Birds:-

Garden:

Coal Tit, Great Spotted Woodpecker.

Raggalds Flood:

Still some water here.

A small flock of 36 Lapwing with the usual  small Gulls ( including 1 Herring Gull).

A few Mallard and two suspicious non-Mallard  looking Ducks that looked a little Pochard like - interesting head colour / shape but they could well be Mallard Hybrids.

Thanks to DSB for his WhatsApp opinion of maybe a Gadwall and the bill does look more Gadwall that Pochard? And there is a slight white panel in the wing?

A Little Owl was seen as I went home down Bradshaw Lane.

Bradshaw Walk:

Little Owl (calling).

40 Canada Geese.

A few small Gulls.

6 or so Fieldfare ( distant ).

4 ,maybe 5 Grey Partridge flushed early.

A Grey Wagtail flushed from Taylor Lane midden.

Pheasant and Mistle Thrush.

I  have a feeling in my water that with more sunshine tomorrow  something special will come my way.

The feeling is probably an age thing or the new Ouija board reading  (I got a new Ouija board from Aldi yesterday - a right snip).

I asked the Ouija if I was going to get a mega tomorrow.....

It spelled out N.I.G.H.T.J.A.R.  - however I don't believe it.

I think it was influenced by the Horlicks that was leaning against it in the shopping  bag as we  travelled home.

Apologies for the terrible road noise.
