I enjoyed a slightly longer walk than of late this morning, while the ladies got their act together.
A bright and breezy outing - nice to see the current bun after all this rain.
I had a walk up to the Raggalds, up Percy Rd to the corner, up the field path and along the fields above the quarry before having a look at Ned Hill Track and home via Taylor Lane.
Late afternoon I had a walk up the local fields where I bumped into DB & RH.
We had some good laughs as we scanned about for - not a lot really!
It got quite cool as darkness fell.
Birds:-
Raggalds - Soil Hill etc:
A solitary Wigeon was on the flood. It was being mobbed constantly by Crows.
In fact the Crows seemed intent on mobbing anything that moved.
Also here c13 Lapwing and the usual few Small Gulls coming and going with c10 the most seen together.
5 Grey Partridge flushed as I approached the awkward gap stile along the fields.
3 Birds overhead sounded very Linnet like but I could easily be mistaken.
A nice surprize was a solitary Redwing perched on a breezy fence post.
Pied Wagtail.
2 Pheasant.
Bradshaw Fields:
Kestrel.
Barn Owl, Sparrowhawk (DSB).
1 Little Owl seen (but not for along) a second one? heard.
1 Mistle Thrush and 3 Fieldfare over.
2 Canada Goose over.
Pheasant.
