Ringstone Reservoir / Bradshaw Fields

We passed through chain bar roundabout on our travels today where my 1st  Buzzard in a while was seen.

Later we called at a bright but windy and cold Ringstone Reservoir and later still I had a walk up the local fields.

A Barn Owl was seen locally and a Kestrel landed on a telephone pole looking on.

When the Barn Owl flew past the Kestrel seemed to follow it.

I wonder if the Kestrel is looking for any easy meal by waiting for the Barn Owl to catch something (before dark) and the rob it's prey?

Birds:

Buzzard.

Ringstone Reservoir:

Many Lapwing and Gulls in the usual field with a few Starlings.

Just Black Headed and Common Gulls as far as I could see in the many photos "what I took".

183 Lapwings I counted from a slowed down video, did not capture all so c200 Lapwing would be a fair guess!

c350 Canada Geese Present.

Large group of Canada Geese in the fields included 2 Greylag Geese.

2 further Greylag Geese > NNW. followed by a further 2 Greylag Geese > NNW.

Kestrel.

Bullfinch on the excellent feeders along the roadside opposite the caravan.

Not a lot else, although, to be fair,  I did not stay long at the feeders which look interesting.

Local Fields:

Deadsville.

A few Carrion Crow and Rooks.

2 Mistle Thrush.

Kestrel.

Barn Owl.

I Can't quite understand why I don't see any Reed Buntings in these fields?

Yesterday a Peregrine was seen as we drove down to Halifax.`
