Bradshaw Fields & Raggalds Flood

A poor day, weather wise murky and wet this morning with some improvement after lunch.

After lunch I had a walk along the fields and through the farms to Ned Hill Road bottom before retracing my steps.

Late afternoon Sue and I went as far as the  Raggalds and back.

The weather turned black as sin as we came back down Bradshaw Lane but we remained dry.

On the Farms walk:-

As I stopped by Crabtree Hall Farm an odd "Blackbird" call was heard.

I put Merlin on to see what it might be but it did not call again (nor did anything else much). However Merlin reported hearing a Ringed Plover.

The area is rough uncultivated hill land with gorse and brambles.

I had a good eyeball around but didn't see much and I very much doubt the presence of a Ringed Plover!!

Birds:

Bradshaw Fields.

Lesser Black-backed Gull.

At least 2 Little Owl (one 'mewing').

c30 Meadow Pipit.

Curlew (heard).

C40 Jackdaw.

Mistle Thrush.

2 Canada Geese.

2 Greenfinch.

2 Chaffinch.

Goldfinch

Woodpigeon drying out on the wires looked like Clothes pegs in the mist.

Raggalds Flood.

c100 Meadow Pipits > north.

Lesser Black-backed Gull.
