Bradshaw Fields - Soil Hill Top - Bradshaw

Sue's Cough From Hell refuses to B off but I think there is a linguistic bonus with it.

Asked "How's the cough?"

Sue replied coughing "Afschuweliijk!"

Which sounds very "Flemish" to me.

My 'usual' saunter after lunch today was quite rewarding given the gloomy day, weather and health issue.

Whoopers are being reported regularly now, on the grapevine, but I have not chance to go out  and see any.

Today, however, that all changed with 37 Whoopers ( reported by DJS via NK)  on Mixenden Reservoir.

I managed to eyeball them by walking up the diagonal path from Ned Hill Track to Soil Hill Top and looking back.

The photos are nowt to write home about though.

Curlews and Skylark were in good voice up here and a Meadow Pipit or three is back on the deck.

Large Gulls were passing by the house this morning as I had a short sky watch.

I'll probably take some time to baffle me sen by trying to ID 'em later on (after this masterpiece).

Birds:-

3 Little Owl.

Stock Dove.

2 Pheasant ( not including me!).

6 common Gull.

4 Curlew.

Pr. Stonechat.

2 Grey Partridge - always great to see.

37 Whooper Swan.

2 Skylark (singers).

Buzzard (heard briefly).

Pied Wagtail on the 1st Taylor Lane midden.

and a few others.

Not much happening in the local fields at dusk late afternoon.

Previous Riddle Answer - see below.

Goldfinch (I believe) over Ned Hill Track

The pot reference pointed to Snooker and the 6th pot would be B4 - clearing up the final balls.

Black 7. Red 1. Yellow 2. Green 3. Brown 4.
