Thornton Cycle Track, Garden , Local Fields

Another hot and sunny day where the garden was a nice place to be this a.m.

After a bit of x-word-ing and sky watching we had a walk along the Thornton Cycle Track to Queensbury Tunnel and back.

An excellent toasted T cake and some Jenny ice cream in the outside cafĂ© rounded off an enjoyable walk.

This afternoon Sue had a lot of mileage to do ferrying Abi and 2 friends about after a sleep over.

On her way to Heckmondwike from Bradshaw she called me to say she had seen a Swift over the Raggalds "heading my way" - I, however, didn't see it!

Later, I had a walk up the local fields on the still "mud bound" path.

Birds:

Thornton Cycle Track:

3 Swift, 2 Buzzard, Swallow, Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler, Blackcap, Whitethroat.

Greenfinch, Chaffinch, Robin, Blackbird, Gt. Tit, Blue Tit.

Garden:

Buzzard, 2 Swallow, 2 Large Gulls.

Local Fields:

3 Canada Geese, Pr. Mallard, Kestrel (I think).

Swallow, Little Owl, Pheasant, 3 Meadow Pipit.

Lesser Black-backed Gull.

A mega distant bird on the bottom field gate post could just be a Whitethroat (might be a Meadow Pipit in bad light conditions).

Amazing that I can get any photo at the distance with this P950 that I have - photo isn't great.
