Local Fields Thursday

Flu and Covid jab day today, earlier I had a short garden sky watch but the bright sunshine and blue sky made it awkward to see my bit of sky alas.

Just as I left the house, though, a Thrush species zipped over my head and away - no idea what it was.

This afternoon we had a journey to Heckmondwike to pick Abi up from school her half term holiday, bizarrely,  start today and she is with us tomorrow also.

Late afternoon I had a short walk up the local fields.

Birds:

Rook over the garden.

Nine Red Legged Partridge.

Gulls coming and going C100 in the end.

2 Little Owl.

Kestrel.

No much else.

Heckmondwike journey:-

A Kestrel was hunting near the Raggalds as we approached Queensbury.

A second Kestrel was hunting as we passed the trailer park on our way back.

Quiz:

Who wrote the novel The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo?

**********************************************************************

Today, I met a couple walking with a young child , she was hugging a pretty dolly.

An old man passing asked " What do you call your dolly? ".

"Parton" replied the little girl.

"WHAT DO YOU CALL YOUR DOLLY? " repeated the old man.

"PARTON " replied the little girl.

WHAT DO YOU CALL YOUR DOLLY!!!! repeated the old man.

"PARTON !!!!" replied the little girl.

The old man shook his head and stomped off.

"Kids today, never listen" he moaned.

"Don't worry Jolene", said the mother " his hearing must be dodgy" .

I know - I should stop trying to make up funny jokes - they aint that funny are they.
