Yet another poor morning here in Bradshaw with mist, murk and damp YUK.
Sue dropped me at Elland Bridge and while she visited a friend in Elland I legged it along the canal for 2 hours or so.
It is truly amazing the difference between Bradshaw and Brighouse, weather-wise with Brighouse nearly at sea level. Today the sun actually peeped out for a minute or three.
On the way home the near pea-souper greeted us again , as we neared The Raggalds Inn.
My main hope, today, was to locate the Scaup on the Ski-Lake , originally found by DJS some days ago now.
I peered through the metal railings at the lake and could just make out quite a few Tufted Duck, way over to my right.
There also looked like there was a Scaup here, but between the bird's constant diving and re-surfacing behind, either a tree or a metal railing, I could not be sure.
After 15 minutes of frustration I walked along to the main road to take a butchers from the Casa Car Park.
A Scaup came into view again behind a bush but with some patience I did get a better view of it.
The sun, now, decided to lighten the water so the glare was a bit of an issue.
I believe I've got 2 Scaup but at that distant I cannot be 100% sure.
(I did not give the woods must of a looking at, on the way through them, I was keen to spend my time on the Scaup hunt.)
