On The Buses with "Reg and Olive"

Some bus journeys for us today, a lovely cool, crisp day.

We intended to get the 502 bus from Bradshaw to Keighley followed by the bus towards Skipton, jumping off before Skipton and walking in on the canal (well we would walk just to the left of it actually).

The 502 duly arrived but after waiting a while for the Skipton bus it transpired that it had blobbed.

We wanted to get home before dark so we decided to have a rethink.

To help the rethink we went into Wetherspoons and had a breakfast bap and a coffee.

The lightbulb moment came after half a bap - we would catch the bus to Hebden Bridge and walk to Sowerby Bridge along the canal instead - sometimes I actually amaze myself.

We had a short nosy at Hebden Bridge before walking along the canal.

At Sowerby Bridge we caught a bus into Halifax.

Just after Parkinson Lane a team of basketball players got on the bus, each one 60 feet tall!

They went upstairs and given the singing and shouting and bouncing about they must have won something good today.

One young lad, siting near us downstairs, went up to have a nosy at what was going on up there.

He came back smiling - they are doing handstands upstairs on a bus!

Meanwhile back at the ranch....tension mounted.... and rode off.

This morning while I was in the garden watching the sky, a WhatsApp message from LD informed us of Pinkies heading west over her patch.

I gawped at the horizon and picked them out as black dots, 5 Miles off?

With the outing more of walk today , rather than a birding job, I had just a small camera with me.

The walk was pleasant enough and there were lots and lots of sycamore leaves on the towpath.

After sweeping several falls of leaves up at home, I know why it's called a sycamore - because after sweeping 'em up I'm sycamore leaves!
